Self-Serve Laundromat in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Big high-speed washers, fast dryers, and a comfortable naturally lit space — open 7 days at 449 Keap St, between Hope & Ainslie.

What's Inside Our Self-Serve Laundromat

We've built our self-serve space around what makes laundry day actually pleasant: machines that run fast and clean well, a layout with room to fold and breathe, and the basics taken care of so you don't have to bring a backpack of supplies. Our space has lots of windows and natural sunlight pouring in.

Machines. Our floor has a full range of high-efficiency washers and stack dryers across multiple sizes. The smallest washers handle a typical 12–15 lb everyday load. Our biggest machines hold extra-large loads — the right size for a comforter, a duvet, or two weeks of laundry from a busy household. Standard wash cycles run about 28 minutes; dryers are high-velocity and finish a full load in roughly 30 minutes.

Payment. We use the CleanCloud prepaid card system. Add value at the kiosk near the entrance using cash or any major credit/debit card, then tap the card on the machine to start. Cards are reusable — keep yours and reload anytime. Pricing is shown on each machine before you commit.

Detergent and supplies on site. A vending machine just inside the door sells single-use detergent pods, fabric softener sheets, and pre-treat sprays. If you forgot something at home, you don't need to leave to grab it. We also offer a hypoallergenic / fragrance-free option for sensitive skin if you ask the attendant.

Comfort. Free guest Wi-Fi for everyone in the laundromat, ample seating, a folding counter that runs the length of the back wall, and outlets and USB ports at every seat. Bring a laptop, a book, or just zone out — the time goes faster than you'd think.

How Self-Service Works

Step-by-step, the way a first-time customer would walk through it:

1. Walk in. Open 7 days, 8 AM to 10 PM. Last wash starts at 8:30 PM so the cycle wraps before close.

2. Load your machine. Pick a washer that fits your load — there's a sizing chart posted at the kiosk if you're unsure. Standard load is around 18 lb (a kitchen-trash-bag's worth of clothes). Don't overstuff; an under-filled machine washes better than a stuffed one.

3. Pay and start. Tap your prepaid CleanCloud card on the reader. Pricing is shown on each machine.

4. While you wait. The wash cycle runs about 28 minutes. Find a seat, hop on Wi-Fi, grab a snack from the vending machine. We're a few doors down from cafés on Metropolitan Ave if you'd rather step out.

5. Move to the dryer. Pull your wet clothes out, choose a dryer that matches the load, and pay for the cycle the same way as the washer. A typical full-load dry takes about 30 minutes; heavy items like jeans and towels may need a top-up.

6. Fold and go. Long folding tables run along the back wall. Fold there, or take everything home. If you'd rather skip folding entirely, we also offer wash & fold drop-off — leave the bag with us and pick up the next day.

Total time: about 1 hour and 15 minutes for a full wash + dry + fold cycle.
